We’re delighted to welcome you as a guest here at SJCC!

Please take a moment to read our guidelines as we strive to preserve the Club’s traditions and the integrity of our facilities.  It is the responsibility of each member to ensure their guests are in compliance with our policies and guidelines. Below is critical information to make your visit more enjoyable. Please check with your host if you have further questions.


Golf Course, Practice Facilities Pro Shop, and Locker Room Attire: We request discretion, good judgment, and cooperation by wearing appropriate “club attire” when occupying the Club premises.

Gentlemen:

  • Tailored slacks or khakis.
  • Tailored golf shorts that extend to mid-thigh.
  • Golf shirts with traditional collars, mock collared golf shirts, or turtlenecks. Shirts must remain tucked in at all times.
  • Golf-specific sweaters, quarter-zips, and high-quality sweatshirts are permitted provided a collared shirt is worn beneath the outerwear.
  • Hats, visors, and golf caps must be worn facing forward (bill forward) at all times while on Club property.
  • Not Permitted: Gym attire, t-shirts, collarless shirts, tank tops, swimwear, cut-offs, cargo shorts, denim, and golf shoes with metal spikes.

Women:

  • Tailored shorts, slacks, capris, cropped pants, golf shorts, skorts, or skirts of an appropriate length no shorter than mid-thigh.
  • Shirts with sleeves and/or collars or a sleeveless shell. Tops are to be tucked in unless designed to be worn otherwise.
  • Golf-specific sweaters and high-quality sweatshirts.
  • Hats, visors, and golf caps must be worn facing forward (bill forward) at all times while on Club property.
  • Not Permitted: Gym attire, t-shirts, tank tops, tube tops, halter tops, leggings, swimwear, cut-offs, mini-skirts, mini dresses, camisoles, tops exposing the bare midriff, frayed hems, sheer fabrics, clothing that exposes undergarments, denim, and golf shoes with metal spikes.

Bag Drop: We ask that all guest please proceed to the bag drop area and check-in with the Golf Shop upon arrival.

Cell Phone Policy: To maintain the character and atmosphere of the Club, and as a courtesy to others, Members and their guests must refrain from the use of cell phones while on the golf course.

Etiquette: Every golfer should replace divots, smooth bunkers, repair ball marks on greens, and observe established golf etiquette. Singles and Twosomes have no right of way at any time. Slow play will not be tolerated.

Drinks/Snacks: The Play Pen is located next to the 12th Tee, and The Turn is located below the Member’s Grill. They serve drinks and a selected menu. SJCC strongly encourages member charging. Cash is not accepted in Member’s Grill, Play Pen and Turn. However, credit cards are accepted with an additional 3% fee.

Dario Olivares

Golf Course Superintendent

Dario Olivares has over thirty years of Golf Course maintenance experience. Dario got his start in 1985 as an assistant superintendent at Friendly Hills Country Club in Whittier California. He has since been the superintendent at five previous facilities.

Dario is a member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America and was a long-standing member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of Southern California.

Dario has extensive experience in directing all aspects of golf maintenance operations, administration, budgeting, renovation, and construction. He has proven to be an effective team builder and leader, with repeated success in cross-functional management, training, staff development, and mentoring.

Dario became a member of the San Joaquin staff in March of 2018 and his impact on the golf course and surrounding areas was immediate. The facility has experienced tremendous improvements from Dario’s knowledge, commitment, passion, and team building skills. The course is now playing better than ever!
